When I was 8 years old, I had a very bad accident. I was attacked by three big dogs and almost didn't make it.
I was not mommy's dog yet, but she promised me she will take care of me and won't let anyone hurt me ever again.
That was the start of Buffy and Renza.
We formed a bond that's unbreakable that day and every day after that. Mommy says she was always sad and her whole life she felt alone. Until I came along.
I helped her to be happier and she helped me heal from what happened to me. Then Fluff came along and the pack grew. More fun, more love, and just more happiness.
Someone called mommy a dog mom one day and she got really upset because she thought they were making fun of her. She has no kids of her own so it's easy to assume you're being mocked.
The more she thought of it, the more she grew comfortable with the idea of being a dog mom. Fluff and I are her heart and she will jump infront of a bus for us. She's our mom.
She knows my fears and what makes me happy. She knows my favorite foods in a specific order and the meaning of all my different barks.
She took the time to notice me and I was not invisible anymore or just another dog. I became hers.
Mommy understands my capacity for love is enormous and she found it hard to resist. It was always hard for her to love, but I made it easier.
I show her every day that she's my favorite person in the whole world. We might not share the same blood or DNA, but we're a pack. We're family.
Now that you understand the title of this post a little better, I'm sure you stopped rolling your eyes. Grrr!
